Opened in 1993 by Raymonde Fenestraz, Les Airelles invented the modern alpine Palace. Frescoed ceilings, hand-carved Tyrolean panels and a four-storey winter garden frame what is still the most opulent hotel address in the Alps — every staff uniform tailored, every door opened, every after-dinner glass of vin chaud appearing unprompted.

The house

Imagined around the world of Empress Sissi, the property is the closest thing in skiing to a Habsburg hunting lodge: marquetry doors, oil portraits, a children's puppet theatre and a hidden rue des enfants with its own ice-cream parlour and bakery.

The Airelles family ethos runs deep — most of the front-of-house team return season after season, and roughly 30% of bookings are repeat guests requesting the same room.

Spa La Mer

A 1,200 sqm spa — the only La Mer destination spa in the Alps — with two pools, a snow cabin, hammam and seven treatment rooms. The signature Miracle Broth facial runs 3 hours and is one of the most requested treatments of the season.

For families

The most child-friendly Palace in the resort: a Christmas village pop-up, daily kids' tea with patissier demonstrations, an in-house ESF private-instructor pool and family suites that connect through hidden wood-panelled doors.

  • Is Les Airelles ski-in / ski-out?

    Yes — direct piste access via the Jardin Alpin, with a private ski room and a team of dedicated ski concierges.

  • Does Les Airelles have a Michelin restaurant?

    Not at present — Pierre Gagnaire's starred collaboration has ended and the hotel's gastronomic table no longer holds a Michelin star in the 2026 Guide. Dining still runs through the legendary Coin Savoyard for fondue and raclette.

  • Is Les Airelles good for families?

    It is widely considered the most family-oriented Palace in the resort — with a dedicated children's floor, in-house puppet theatre and connecting family suites.

  • When should I book Les Airelles?

    Christmas, New Year and February half-term sell out 9–12 months in advance. Late January and early March are still bookable 3 months out.
