Bernard Arnault opened Cheval Blanc Courchevel in 2006 as the first address of what would become LVMH's most discreet hotel brand. Twenty years on it remains the benchmark — a 36-suite house wrapped around a private contemporary-art collection, the only three-Michelin-star table at altitude in France, and a service standard calibrated for guests who divide their winters between Courchevel and St Barths.

The house

Interiors by Imaad Rahmouni layer alpine timber with Olivier Lapidus textiles and a permanent collection that rotates pieces by Damien Hirst, Murakami and Calder. Every suite faces the Jardin Alpin slope; the four signature Chalets share their own concierge and private spa.

The Cheval Blanc service code — borrowed from the brand's St Barths and Maldives properties — runs on a 4:1 staff-to-guest ratio and an unwritten rule of anticipation: the elevator is held, the boot warmer pre-heated, the table at Le 1947 already laid before the request is voiced.

Spa & wellness

The 1,500 sqm Cheval Blanc Spa is the only Guerlain Spa in a Palace at altitude. Two indoor pools, a snow grotto, hammam, and the Orchidée Impériale signature ritual define the wellness floor; treatments can be taken in-suite for the chalets.

Suites & private chalets

Suites start at 40 sqm and climb to the 600 sqm Owner's Apartment. The four standalone Chalets — Bouquetin, Renard, Marmotte and Ours — each include a private ski room, hammam, jacuzzi and dedicated butler.
